Gonna
tell you a story of sufferin’ Gonna
sing you the blues I
may not look like a man in pain But
if you could walk a mile in my shoes No
I haven’t lost my job, my house or my car My
woman didn’t leave me with a broken heart Those
people have no idea what true pain is about You
just don’t know how it feels to be a man with gout We
hiked all day Something
just wasn’t right And
then in the tent where I lay Couldn’t
sleep through the night I
said, Kristy there’s something I’ve been keeping back Something
swelling and throbbing down in my sleeping sack She
opened her eyes in fear until I told her the cold plain truth Then
she understood that I got some serious toe pain blues The
slightest movement was pure pain galore Then
she said I’ve never driven a truck or on a 4-wheel road before She packed the tent and loaded up the gear And
off we went with my foot suspended in the air If
you want to camp out – you just can’t get gout – toe pain Don’t
forget this fact – I have to drive you back – toe pain she
don’t lie, she don’t lie, she don’t lie – toe pain Now
I’ve tried cherry juice Poured
myself a nightly glass It
don’t cure the toe pain blues It
just gives me wicked gas Vitamin
C, alfalfa, calcium – I’ve tried them all Now
I can’t eat meat, now I can’t drink alcohol And
being sober – just don’t seem to help the main issue 'Cuz there’s just no gettin’ over – these toe pain blues
